Melza Harvey
www.melzaharvey.com BA Psychology, BFA Ceramics Nova Scotian born Ceramic Artist, Melza Harvey, began clay sculpting in 2003. She has a Bachelor of Arts with an Advanced Major in Psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University. She professionally trained as a ceramist from 2006-2009 at the Centre De Ceramique Bonsecours in Montreal, where she currently resides. Melza is a proud mother of three young children and copiously balanced earning a Fine Arts degree in Ceramics from Concordia University while navigating single motherhood. In 2017 she founded Melz Artz Mobile, a portable ceramic workshop that aims to make ceramic art instruction accessible. Melza is passionate about working with clay and believes that learning to express ourselves through clay sculpture can be a therapeutic experience. Her enthusiasm for clay sculpture has led her to create and teach numerous workshops. Tackling various issues such as cancer, size-ism, gender and sexuality, autism, Parkinson's disease and physical disabilities. Melanie has gained a wide range of experience working with seniors, adults and children. |
