Melza now offers Kiln Firing Services!
Great news!  I have installed a fully equipped ceramics studio in my home located in Lasalle, Montréal.  I am now offering firing services and glaze consultations to help you bring your clay creations to life.
Here’s everything you need to know to get your pieces fired smoothly and successfully:

• Firing Schedule: I fire the kiln only once I have enough pieces to fill it, so the exact timing can vary. However, I strive to fire your work as quickly as possible.
• Firing Types:
  • Bisque Firing: Done at Cone 04
  • Glaze Firing: Done at Cone 6
• Pricing Structure:
  Firings are charged by shelf space – which is based on the area your work occupies in the kiln (measured in square footage).

Shelf Dimensions & Rates:

Demi-circle   10.5” x 21” x 5”high
$15 Bisque 
$21 Glaze

Full circle  21” round x 5 “ high
​$30 Bisque
$42 Glaze
Space is reserved for three 1¾” posts per shelf. Pieces must fit within the shelf's dimensions.

• Important!
  • Special rates for special sizes available upon request.
  • Glazed pieces must not touch each other during firing.
  • Your pieces cannot exceed the shelf size.
• Clay & Glaze Approval:
  • All clay types and glaze brands must be disclosed and approved before firing.
  • Proper cleaning of the bottoms of your pieces is a must. If not cleaned properly, your pieces will be returned to you for cleaning before firing.
• Refunds & Re-firing:
  • There are no refunds for undesirable results.
  • Refunds or re-firing will be offered for any issues caused by the kiln malfunctioning during firing.
• Additional Services:
  • Clay Purchase: Available in various types and quantities, prices vary.
  • Glaze Access: Available at varying prices depending on the glaze and quantity.
  • Consultations: $30 per half hour for glazing and construction advice.
